Referát: Veronica Guerin (review)

A film Veronica Guerin directed by Joel Schumacher (famous for his The Crowded Room, The Phantom of Opera (2001) or Phone Booth (2002)) is different style of this famous director. It’s based on real story of Irish journalist who was murdered in June 1996. A brilliant performance of Cate Blanchett as a lead role makes this film not only a biography but also drama and thriller. The opposite of tender woman and also her enemy is John Gilligan, the boss of criminal underworld, played by Gerard MsSorley. Representative of John Traynor, Guerin’s source of information, is Ciaran Hinds. We can also recognize Collin Farrell in a small character of tattooed man
