Slovenská sporiteľňa, a.s. (SLSP, a.s.) is a bank with the longest tradition of savings in Slovakia, which roots go back to the 19th century. In 1990 SLSP, a.s. gained universal banking license and expanded services in the segment of the institutional and business clients. In 1991 started to act also in the money and capital market. After signing the contract between the Ministry of Finance SR and Erste Bank der Oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG on the sale of majority shares, which was held in January 2001, the bank was incorporated in a strong financial group Erste Bank der Oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG. SLSP, a.s. is now with numbers of 2.5 million clients the largest commercial bank in Slovakia. It has a long-term leadership in total assets, loans, customer deposits, in the number of branches and ATMs. Comprehensive banking services are provided by the 274 business places and 10 business centers in all regions in Slovakia.
