The European Union has the largest economy in the world, the largest importer and exporter, is the main investor as well as beneficiaries of international investment and major donors. The European Union has a relatively greater importance in the international business meetings than any of its members.
Foreign trade is the oldest and most widespread form of international economic relations in the last decade, one of the most dynamic emerging factors of the global economy. As it is a momentum not only in terms of quantitative, foreign trade can be identified as a crucial factor affecting economic growth and development not only of national economies but also the global economy.
In this work, we focused on trade policy in the European Union in 2013. In this work, we also discussed the reasons why it is important to trade policy and free trade, major trading partners, the investment and development. Furthermore, we have a dedicated position of the WTO in the European Union, which has the status of trade policy in the Slovak Republic and also a strategic European Union's relations with other countries.
