Slovak Republic is going through its fifteenth year of independence today, after a long period of restrictions and represses from more or less every nation which had been just passing through central Europe. This is the background of nowadays political, economical, legislative situation and of all the other milestones of our way of life. Since 1993 legislation is being constantly reshaped from a centralized economy to an open one. These changes concern also business conditions set mostly by The Commercial Code and The Trade Licensing Law which are being novelized to the European pattern. It is a fact that Slovak financial market is an infant in comparison with the old Europe. Histories of Dutch and British stock exchange markets reach the 17th century, whereas Bratislava Stock Exchange was found in 1991. I think that a very interesting fact is that the limited liability companies dominate the Slovak trade market, though joint stock companies, the equivalent of public or private limited companies in United Kingdom, from my point of view, give much wider opportunities for entrepreneurship. I analyzed the conditions of founding this type of company because I find it as a very attractive business entity.
