He was born on 13.10.1982. He suddenly became an international hero on 16 september 2000. His nickname is Thorpedo and he was born to swim.
When Ian was 6, he played soccer and was a good goalkeeper. But his older sister, Christine, was a swimmer and Ian often watched her competing. But watching was boring for him and so he decided to join her in the pool. It took him only four years to become the youngest male swimmer ever to have qualified for an Australian team...
